The SOAS Law LLB with Year Abroad program cultivates highly competent, socially conscious graduates who actively engage with critical issues, applying their acquired knowledge to benefit their communities.
In today's globally connected environment, legal matters frequently transcend national boundaries, making law a transnational discipline. Our SOAS Law degree meets this challenge by delivering an exceptional educational journey that develops unique capabilities surpassing conventional law school offerings. During their third year, students pursue legal or language studies at an international partner institution.
This curriculum deeply engages students with diverse legal systems worldwide, fostering a nuanced perspective on law's contemporary global role. Our expertise spans crucial areas such as international law, human rights, commercial law across borders, environmental legislation, comparative legal studies, and socio-legal approaches

Qualification Requirements

Applicants with standard qualifications (such as A levels, International Baccalaureate or other High School qualifications considered equivalent to A levels) are not required to take the Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT), but the School of Law will consider making lower offers (eg AAA, AAB, ABB or 37, 36, 35 in International Baccalaureate) to candidates who do so and perform promisingly in that Test. SOAS accepts students from a wide variety of backgrounds, as well as mature applicants and those with non-standard qualifications. Among these applicants those with Access to Law qualifications and SOAS Intermediate Certificate Course students are preferred.
