This Bachelor of Arts program focuses on Africa, the African Diaspora, and Black studies. Through rigorous academic exploration, it offers a solid foundation that prepares you to analyze and contribute to Africa's global presence by developing deep understanding of both historical and current issues concerning the continent. The curriculum also invites you to examine modern topics such as migration, colonial legacies, economic shifts, environmental challenges, and cultural expressions. The BA in Africa and Black Diaspora equips students to navigate central debates in the study of Africa and its global diasporic communities. What sets this program apart is its cross-disciplinary methodology and transnational perspective, examining connections across African regions, the Black Atlantic, Black Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
You'll have the opportunity to integrate your studies in Politics, Social Anthropology, Languages and Cultures, Economics, and International Relations with specialized knowledge of Africa and its Diasporas.
