The identification of the Higgs Boson and ongoing investigations into Physics beyond the Standard Model at CERN's Large Hadron Collider keep particle physics at the forefront of scientific relevance.
Our three-year Physics with Particle Physics BSc program includes all core Physics curriculum (F303/F300) while focusing particularly on fundamental particle physics, high-energy detectors, and accelerator technology. The course features an educational visit to CERN.
We deliver Physics education through diverse methods including small group tutorials, problem-solving sessions, lectures, lab work, computing projects, collaborative activities, and personalized lab instruction - ensuring comprehensive academic support.
As a research-driven department, our teaching incorporates cutting-edge discoveries. Our advanced facilities focus on Dark Matter research, next-generation particle accelerators, and breakthroughs in nanophysics, quantum technologies, extreme low-temperature studies, superconductivity, novel materials, and other pioneering fields. Final-year students conduct research in these laboratories.
