Biology provides insights into our natural environment, revealing how plants and animals coexist, how species evolve and adapt, and humanity's place within the broader ecosystem. At Royal Holloway, University of London, our biology program offers comprehensive knowledge about living organisms' structure, function, evolution, diversity, and their interconnected relationships.
The program features adaptable course structures that let students customize their studies from the first year onward. You'll establish core knowledge in cell biology and genetics while exploring evolution, biological data interpretation, and plant biology. The curriculum offers diverse module options spanning molecular, organ, organism, and ecosystem studies.
Practical learning is integrated throughout all three years. Initial years combine lab and fieldwork sessions, while the final year involves joining our prestigious research community for an independent project. Students work alongside expert academics across biomedical, environmental, microbial, or plant science disciplines, employing laboratory, field, or computational methodologies.
