Robert Gordon University's MEng Mechanical Engineering program, accredited for professional recognition, prepares you to engage in designing, building, and operating machinery, structures, and industrial facilities across diverse sectors. You'll focus on developing more reliable, long-lasting, cost-effective, and higher-performing mechanical systems that positively impact communities.
This program provides hands-on application of your acquired expertise, challenging you with actual industry scenarios where you'll employ systematic approaches to resolve complex issues while balancing competing demands. Your projects will range from miniature parts to massive industrial equipment, machinery, or transportation systems.
The initial two years follow a shared curriculum with our other Mechanical Engineering programs. Following Year 2, you'll have the knowledge to choose your preferred specialization path.

Qualification Requirements
SQA Higher: BBBC to include Maths and either Engineering Science, Physics or Technological Studies. English at National 5 grade C or above is required if not held at Higher.
GCE A Level: BCC to include Mathematics at grade B plus either Physics, Design Technology or Engineering. GCSE English at grade 5/C or above is required if not held at A Level.
Irish Leaving Certificate Higher: H2H3H3H3 to include Maths and either Physics or Technological Studies. English at grade O3 or above is required if not held at Higher.
IB Diploma: 27 to include Higher Level Maths and Physics, one of which must be at grade 6 and one at grade 5. English is required at a minimum of Standard Level grade 4.
