The BSc Architecture/Master of Architecture (BSc/MArch) program at Robert Gordon University offers a seamless progression from undergraduate to postgraduate study, creating a direct route to professional accreditation.
During the initial three years, students gain fundamental architectural knowledge and skills, culminating in the BSc Architecture degree (which includes RIBA and ARB Part 1 certification). The curriculum focuses on three core areas: Architectural Design Studio, Architectural History and Theory, and Technical Studies covering Construction, Structural Design, and Environmental Systems.
The concluding two years form the Master's component, awarding the MArch degree (with RIBA and ARB Part 2 recognition). This advanced stage allows students to specialize through three thematic units exploring Urban Environments, Spatial Contexts, and Community Settings. The program emphasizes real-world design challenges in both urban and rural contexts, encouraging students to address contemporary issues affecting local and global communities. This approach provides exposure to diverse architectural challenges with national and international significance.
