The research center will tackle pressing global challenges in civil engineering by strengthening current partnerships and establishing new international collaborations. Funding to overcome these challenges will be secured through both university-led initiatives (for improved infrastructure and facilities) and external sources including government grants, charitable organizations, and direct industry backing. Queen's Civil Engineering ranks among the world's Top 200 (Academic Ranking of World Universities, 2021). Your research will push boundaries in civil engineering by expanding current international partnerships and forging new ones. Your contributions will help solve critical issues related to energy, carbon reduction, water purification, infrastructure development, extreme condition analysis, and setting new industry benchmarks. Our primary research focuses encompass offshore renewable energy, groundwater and environmental systems, soil mechanics, smart infrastructure, advanced structural engineering, sustainable construction materials, and project management.
