The MA Geopolitics at QUB combines historical, cultural, and political insights in a cutting-edge interdisciplinary curriculum designed to equip students with the expertise to tackle these pressing issues. Led by specialists in Human Geography, Politics, and International Relations—with diverse regional knowledge and research approaches—this program invites students to investigate the critical questions defining our era. While particularly suited to geographers, IR scholars, and political scientists, it welcomes anyone passionate about the core themes. The curriculum explores these intersections through various lenses, covering topics like nation-states, landscapes, mobility, urban environments, climate shifts, sovereignty, identity, gender, colonial legacies, borders, human rights, and more. Students can focus on specific areas or engage broadly with subjects such as cultural studies, media, ethics, security, environmental governance, and civic engagement.
