The DECAP program is a full-time, three-year curriculum that results in a professional certification in Educational, Child, and Adolescent Psychology. Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), it qualifies graduates for Chartered Status and is recognized by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for training educational psychologists. Funded by the Department of Education, the program may provide selected candidates with training bursaries. These come with a mandatory requirement to seek educational psychology positions within Northern Ireland's Education Authority and, upon securing a role, to serve in the EA psychology service for at least three years.
