At Queen's, pursuing a degree in Politics and Spanish allows you to explore how political analysis (including political theory, institutions, and international relations) intersects with literary and linguistic studies to shed light on both historical and current global developments.
The Politics and Spanish program also provides opportunities to examine diverse literary, political, social, cultural, and linguistic dimensions of Spanish-speaking nations worldwide. Beginners without A-level Spanish can start learning the language from scratch, while all students take core Spanish language modules to build proficiency in writing, speaking, and translating between Spanish and English.
In addition to language studies, students explore the literature, history, culture, and linguistics of the Spanish-speaking world. Our program proudly offers comprehensive coverage of Spain and Latin America, spanning from early modern (Golden Age) Spain and colonial Latin America to 21st-century Spain and present-day Latin America.
