The scholarly examination of politics focuses on the origins of disputes, collaboration, authority, and policy formation across and within communities. It explores how distinctions manifest through belief systems and institutional structures, along with potential methods for settling disputes and addressing challenges.

You'll gain comprehensive knowledge about political systems, governance theories, state administration, and the role of individuals in political processes.

As an ever-evolving discipline, Queen's Politics and International Relations faculty research pressing contemporary matters including climate policy, Brexit's impacts, democratic advancements (like Citizens' Assemblies and other governance innovations), population movements, civic participation, tensions, and national safety.
