The BA in French and Portuguese focuses on developing language skills and cross-cultural understanding, with language and identity forming the foundation of the program. Students will engage in critical analysis of modern topics, historical eras, and diverse regions (including France, Portugal, Brazil, Portuguese-speaking African nations, and the Francophone Caribbean), examined through various mediums such as visual arts, film, language studies, and written works. The program incorporates approximately eight months of study abroad in French-speaking and/or Portuguese-speaking countries.
