The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures focuses on studying literary, visual, and cultural history spanning from medieval times to today. We work in close partnership with the Department of Comparative Literature, as our research areas frequently overlap. Additionally, we maintain robust ties with various external research organizations such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Leo Baeck Institute, the Ramon Llull Institute (Catalan Studies), the Camões Institute for Cooperation and Language, and the University of London's Institute of Modern Languages Research.
