The School of Mathematical Sciences at QMUL hosts a vibrant group of around 90 postgraduate research students. According to REF 2014, 87% of our research achieves world-leading or internationally excellent status. We regularly announce funded PhD opportunities and welcome applications for self-funded full-time or part-time projects at any time. Candidates for the PhD programmes in Mathematics or Statistics should normally have a first or good upper second-class honours BSc in mathematics or statistics, or a more advanced qualification such as MSci, MMath, or MSc. IELTS (Academic) minimum score 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each of Writing, Listening, Reading and Speaking.  TOEFL minimum score 92 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
