The Law and Finance Postgraduate Diploma is delivered by the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). This specialized course offers advanced professional education for those seeking career progression in London's financial district, government roles, or various public and private sector positions. Tailored for legal graduates wanting financial expertise and finance professionals seeking deeper understanding of financial legislation, the program bridges these disciplines. Participants will engage with cutting-edge applied research while building comprehensive knowledge of financial markets and legal frameworks.Instruction comes from leading practitioners, including advisors to global organizations like the World Bank, IMF, Bank of England, EU, and WTO. The curriculum is jointly delivered by faculty from CCLS and the School of Economics and Finance.Program StructureStudents can specialize through three pathways:Law and FinanceBanking Law and Financial RegulationCorporate Finance and M&A LawThe program combines selected law and finance modules with an independent research dissertation analyzing legal-economic intersections. Participants gain exclusive access to practical short courses developing industry-valued technical skills.For foundational knowledge, pre-sessional modules cover financial/legal principles and statistical methods. Students need to have a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in Law or Economics (Finance). Graduates with a good 2.2 honours degree who also have other legal qualifications and/or substantial professional legal or finance experience may also qualify. Students need to have an IELTS minimum score 7.0 overall with 6.5 in Writing and 6.0 in Listening, Reading and Speaking. TOEFL: minimum score 100 overall with 24 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
