This program provides essential training in molecular and cellular biology, forming the basis for cancer biology and research. You'll explore cutting-edge advancements in cancer treatment, including innovative medications and genetic therapies, while learning how new treatments are created, tested, and applied. Taught by specialists from Barts Cancer Institute—a key member of the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre, a globally recognized hub for cancer biotherapeutics—this online program offers flexibility to balance studies with other responsibilities. What you'll study This curriculum delivers comprehensive knowledge of the scientific foundations behind cancer therapies. You'll examine the entire process of treatment development, from conception to clinical implementation. Upon completion, you'll gain expertise in cancer biology, pathology, research methods, pharmaceutical development, and regulatory affairs. The program prepares you to effectively utilize and assess cancer treatments, improving career opportunities across various cancer research fields, particularly early-stage clinical trials. Offered by the Barts Cancer Institute—a Cancer Research UK Center of Excellence and component of the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre—this program is available through distance learning: 9 months full-time or 21 months part-time.
A 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in a relevant subject such as Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Medicine from a recognised academic institution.
Applicants with a 2:2 degree will be considered on an individual basis.
 
The programme is open to graduate scientists, clinicians and other medical professionals working in healthcare, the pharmaceutical industry or contract research organisations.
 
IELTS (Academic) minimum score 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each of Writing, Listening, Reading and Speaking.  TOEFL minimum score 92 overall with 21 in Writing, 19 in Reading, 18 in Listening and 21 in Speaking.
