This program is co-taught by Queen Mary University of London's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry alongside the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences, combining the key strengths of both departments. Students learn from distinguished specialists across all subject areas while benefiting from shared access to laboratory facilities, computing resources, and library collections. The curriculum establishes comprehensive knowledge in biomedical sciences, encompassing neuroanatomy, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and pharmacology. During the final year, students select specialized modules focusing on areas like stem cell research, neural system repair and regeneration, and insights into brain disorders. Senior students have the opportunity to conduct independent lab research projects or collaborate with established research teams at Queen Mary. A neuroscience degree offers excellent preparation for medical or dental careers, providing exposure to diverse biomedical disciplines.
