Our dynamic Film Studies and French BA program brings together two distinct yet complementary fields of study. You'll split your time evenly between both disciplines. At Queen Mary, studying French involves exploring the rich diversity of Francophone cultures. The curriculum covers not just mainland France, but also examines French as an international language, France's global influence, and the cultural contributions of historically marginalized communities including women, working-class populations, and ethnic minorities. Film Studies cultivates visual literacy while connecting to various academic domains like history, political science, philosophy, technology, and theater arts. Through diverse course offerings, you'll explore cinema's evolution and theories, with opportunities to develop original screenplays.

Your third year includes study abroad, providing invaluable immersion to enhance language proficiency and intercultural understanding.
