Numerous global challenges can only be addressed through improved urban planning. From safeguarding green spaces to reducing commute times, city planners hold significant responsibility in shaping an eco-friendly tomorrow for our societies. Explore this at Oxford Brookes, where you'll examine design across all dimensions - from single structures to comprehensive city blueprints. You'll engage with urban settings of every size, from small towns to massive metropolises, and put your concepts to the test in demanding global projects spanning locations from Manhattan to Mumbai.
The program begins with UK housing studies. By the second semester, you might consult with Dubai specialists about climate impacts, or evaluate Hong Kong's demographic statistics to find sustainable solutions for dense residential areas. Our extensive curriculum equips you with skills to address urban design issues internationally. While we can't guarantee solutions to every problem, we provide ample chances to nurture innovation and gain insights from varied viewpoints.
Full-time options: MA (12 months), PGDip (8 months), PGCert (4 months). The full-time program requires two weekly attendance days.
