For those with a degree and background in Health and Social Care seeking professional social work qualification, this program offers the ideal pathway. Beginning January 2025, the course enables simultaneous academic study and practical work experience across both Children/Families and Adult Social Work domains, empowering you to shape your career trajectory as desired.

Our strong partnerships with statutory and independent sector employers guarantee that course content and placements incorporate current practice developments, including legislative updates, policy changes, and collaborative multi-agency approaches. This two-year full-time Master's in Social Work, accredited by Social Work England (SWE), leads to eligibility for SWE registration upon successful completion. The comprehensive MA Social Work curriculum allows specialization in either Children/Family or Adult Social Work, specifically tailored for practice under English legal frameworks.

Each academic year includes a supervised work placement, where you'll receive guidance from a qualified Social Work Practice Educator to maximize your learning and professional development.

An undergraduate degree (minimum 2.1) or other recognised equivalent qualification
Applicants with a 2:2 or other recognised equivalent qualification will only be considered on an individual basis but, it will be a requirement to demonstrate in the Personal Statement how your experiences (e.g. awards, scholarships, work experience - either paid or unpaid) and knowledge and skills will enable you to study and train to be a qualified social work practitioner
provide a personal statement which provides evidence of experience of working within a care setting or organisation e.g. where you were involved in the delivery of services to people or groups who have social, health or educational needs or an NGO. This could be paid or voluntary work, with children or adults. Your experience should equate to at least 100 working days
provide a reference that evidences the experience in your personal statement (this should be from an employer or somebody who has known you in a professional capacity)

IELTS - 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component
TOEFL iBT: - 96 overall with at least 19 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 20 in Speaking and 24 in Writing
