This program provides a distinctive chance to explore a broader variety of species than typical animal science degrees. Your studies will concentrate on exotic species biology, particularly non-domestic and non-UK wildlife. The curriculum addresses core scientific concepts like anatomy, physiology, behavior, genetics, ecology, and nutrition. You'll implement these concepts in zoo species management and conservation efforts. Our contemporary on-campus Animal Unit, home to approximately 250 animals across 70 species, will be available for your use. This program delivers comprehensive knowledge of animal biology with special emphasis on zoo species.
We provide three specialized animal science degrees: BSc (Hons) Zoo Biology (this program) / BSc (Hons) Zoo Biology (with foundation year) - specializes in zoo animals and exotic species. BSc (Hons) Animal Biology / BSc (Hons) Animal Biology (with foundation year) - focuses on domesticated species including companion, working, and farm animals. BSc (Hons) Zoology / BSc (Hons) Zoology (with foundation year) - examines diverse invertebrate and vertebrate species regarding their biology, evolution, taxonomy, and identification.
