This program builds comprehensive business competencies while providing a specialized track in logistics and supply chain management (LSCM). Specialized coursework focuses on strategic procurement and techniques for managing supply chain sustainability, quality, and risk factors. You'll enhance your research capabilities through either a master's thesis or a practical consultancy investigation. The program concludes with your choice between an academic dissertation or a client-focused group consultancy project addressing real-world challenges. No prior undergraduate study in business or LSCM is necessary. The program holds the prestigious AACSB accreditation for Newcastle Business School, recognized as Business School of the Year at The Times Higher Education Awards 2015, along with accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Our alumni typically secure professional and graduate management roles. Upon completion, you'll be exceptionally prepared for careers in procurement, logistics, strategic planning, and international trade. The specialized modules - including Strategic Procurement, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, and Risk Analysis - combined with your thesis or consultancy work, will give you a competitive advantage. For aspiring entrepreneurs, our graduates' startups collectively outperform those from any other UK university in total revenue. This program also serves as excellent preparation for advanced research degrees like MPhil, PhD, or Professional Doctorates. Regardless of your path, you'll graduate with the critical thinking, research, and decision-making skills that Northumbria University master's graduates are known for, including the ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and make informed judgments with incomplete information.
