An additional year then leads to your MEng qualification, maintaining a specialized focus on automotive engineering. This MEng program holds accreditation from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), fulfilling the educational criteria for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Opt for this course if you aim to fully satisfy the academic prerequisites for Chartered Engineer certification, which often leads to enhanced career prospects and remuneration. Employers highly value MEng graduates as they eliminate the need for further postgraduate study while working. The curriculum emphasizes practical problem-solving within real-world contexts. Our commitment to sustainable engineering ensures you'll develop ethical approaches to address global societal challenges through engineering solutions. **Career Preparation Through the Automotive Engineering MEng (Hons) Program** This MEng (Hons) Mechanical and Automotive Engineering degree is structured to completely satisfy IMechE's academic standards for Chartered Engineer status, boosting your employability and earning potential. An optional placement year enhances your professional experience through industry engagement, while study abroad opportunities broaden your international perspective. The third/fourth-year major project and fourth/fifth-year interdisciplinary project allow you to showcase your accumulated knowledge - these serve not just as academic assessments but as professional portfolios for future employers. Northumbria's Careers and Employment Service provides tailored support through workshops, individual guidance, and networking events to help launch your career. Graduates emerge as highly employable automotive engineering professionals in a growing sector facing skills shortages.
