The BEng (Hons) in Automotive Engineering prepares you with hands-on skills and knowledge for a thriving career as an automotive engineer, while laying the educational foundation for advancement into management positions. Through diverse modules and project-based learning, you'll investigate modern automotive engineering, with an optional industrial placement year available. This IMechE-accredited program fulfills the academic criteria for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and partially meets Chartered Engineer (CEng) requirements. Full CEng qualification can be achieved by completing an additional year for the MEng (Hons). Students certain about pursuing the MEng should apply directly for that program.
An integrated optional placement year provides valuable industry exposure and helps meet IMechE professional practice standards. Our strong industry connections and IMechE partnerships give students access to leading employers like Exxon Mobil, Caterpillar, and Nissan, with graduates securing positions at multinational corporations.
