The products and services we purchase, ranging from apparel and gadgets to dining and leisure, play a significant role in shaping our lifestyles. As a marketing specialist, you'll influence these crucial buying choices, supported by the expert insights gained through our BA (Hons) Marketing program. Our Marketing BA (Hons) curriculum blends specialized marketing studies (two-thirds) with broader business subjects (one-third), covering essential areas like marketing strategy development, consumer insights, omnichannel campaigns, and analytics-driven marketing. You'll steer your educational path with elective options in years two and three, choosing from digital marketing, B2B strategies, retail marketing, or niche sectors like sports, fashion, or music marketing - enabling specialization that enhances your career prospects. The program encourages practical experience through internships, international study opportunities, or a combination of both. Final-year students can opt for a group consulting project in our Business Clinic, an individual business research project, or a thesis (placement students may have different options). The research project offers hands-on experience tackling real-world business challenges. Developed in collaboration with industry leaders - the Data & Marketing Association (DMA) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) - our curriculum grants exemptions from certain professional certifications. You can further boost your credentials by pursuing additional CIM and DMA qualifications during your studies. Newcastle Business School's AACSB accreditation underscores the excellence of our BA (Hons) Marketing degree.
Career readiness forms the foundation of all our Business programs, with each module cultivating workplace-relevant abilities. We've incorporated two specialized career-building courses: Marketing Study and Consultancy Skills, plus Preparing for Professional Practice. Beyond academics, you'll gain practical experience through various opportunities. Second-year students can study abroad for a semester, or take a full year abroad in Europe, North America, Asia, or Australia. Graduates emerge well-prepared for corporate training programs and entry-level positions across organizations of all sizes. Alumni have secured diverse marketing roles in digital strategy, consumer insights, and market analytics. For those pursuing advanced study, the program provides excellent preparation for postgraduate options like our MSc in Digital Marketing.
