Previously titled 'BA Film and TV Production', this course is instructed by Northumbria's foremost film professionals, theorists, and scholars – all integrating cutting-edge research into your practical sessions, lectures, and discussions. The BA Film merges academic study with creative practice: you'll produce your own films across genres including narrative, documentary, music videos, and experimental works, while investigating cinema's societal and cultural influence. This dynamic, cross-disciplinary program tackles contemporary challenges while preparing you for professional success in the industry. How does this program ready you for your future profession? Alumni will possess dual expertise in significant cultural themes and the ability to articulate their perspectives through both film projects and scholarly writing. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared for roles such as producer, editor, director, screenwriter, critic, or researcher.
