The BA (Hons) Design for Industry program cultivates a thoughtful, investigative, and innovative mindset for developing products, services, and user experiences. For more than four decades, this degree has equipped emerging designers with the expertise, technical abilities, and creative assurance to address the evolving demands of individuals, communities, and commercial enterprises. Our alumni network includes renowned design pioneers and internationally recognized professionals who began their journeys in this program. Through collaborative industry initiatives and academic rigor, we prepare students to meaningfully impact their future careers in industrial design.
Upon finishing the four-year curriculum, you'll have honed both conceptual and hands-on abilities ready for professional work or advanced studies. You'll master diverse design communication methods—from hand sketching to 3D modeling and digital tools—to investigate, develop, and realize design solutions. The program concludes with participation in London's prestigious New Designers showcase, where graduates present their capstone projects to industry leaders and the public. Many alumni now work with leading London design firms like ForPeople, DCA, and Native, who regularly attend the exhibition to discover emerging talent. Practical industry engagement forms the foundation of our curriculum, as we consider it essential for developing the competencies needed to thrive in the design field.
