This integrated master's program in dietetics provides comprehensive training to develop the expertise required for a successful career as a dietitian. The curriculum explores how nutrition impacts human physiology in both wellness and illness, offering specialized training in using food, nutrients, and dietary modifications to prevent, treat, and manage health conditions. As the first undergraduate Dietetics program in England's North East region, it features cutting-edge facilities and research excellence. The program employs dynamic teaching methods like case studies, simulation exercises, and practical placements to thoroughly prepare students for professional practice. Covering diverse disciplines from clinical sciences to social sciences, this degree includes a master's-level year to develop leadership capabilities and research proficiency while shaping future dietetic approaches.

Dietitians enjoy diverse career opportunities as registered healthcare practitioners. Many graduates join the UK's National Health Service or international equivalents, working in hospitals or community environments, with potential specializations in areas like pediatric nutrition, digestive disorders, kidney disease, or intensive care. Beyond clinical roles, dietitians contribute to public health initiatives, food policy development, industry collaborations, and media communications. The profession also encompasses academic and research positions that advance evidence-based dietetic practices.
