Qualification Requirements

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in psychology. 2:2 honours degrees will be considered if you have evidence of subsequent academic achievement equivalent to a good 2.1. This could include a PhD or an MSc at the level of merit or distinction.

Your qualification must confer Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) from the British Psychological Society (BPS). You need to be eligible for the GBC by the time you apply. You can check whether your qualification confers on the BPS site. Please contact the BPS direct if you have any queries.

Your application needs to include any academic publications and research experience, such as an MSc, PhD or other relevant research or service evaluation work. If you are are undertaking an MSc or PhD, you must complete your studies before taking up a place on this programme.

In order to evidence capacity to undertake study at doctoral level, you also have to achieve a minimum score of 3 or above on our academic scoring (MS Word 14KB). If you score above this, you will be eligible to be considered for interview, and will be in the second sift of the application process. There are multiple ways in which 3 points and above can be achieved through academic attainments.
