Pursue a Physical Geography degree at Newcastle to acquire scientific expertise and analytical capabilities for tackling worldwide environmental issues.
This program lets you specialize in physical geography from day one. You'll master the fundamental forces that mold Earth's landscapes while building expertise in GIS and remote sensing technologies.
Your first year provides comprehensive training in physical geography principles and methods. During years two and three, you can select from various Geography and Civil Engineering courses. You'll practice your skills through fieldwork, exploring our region's diverse geography and participating in a second-year residential field excursion.

ABB and at least one science-related subject from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computing, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Further Maths, Geology, Human Biology, Marine Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Pure Maths, Science (applied). General Studies is not accepted. For Biology, Chemistry and Physics A Levels, we require a pass in the practical element. GCSE Mathematics is required (minimum grade C or 4) if not offered at a higher level.
International Baccalaureate
A minimum of 32 points and one science at Higher Level grade 6 from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics, Standard Level Mathematics or Mathematical Studies required at Grade 4 if not offered at Higher Level
IELTS - Applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent with no less than 5.5 in each of the four elements of the test
TOEFL iBT - 90 overall (with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking, and 17 in writing)
