Similar to psychology, Cognitive Science seeks to unravel the intricacies of the mind and examine how mental processes affect behavior. Originating in the 1950s as a counter to Behaviorism—which emphasized learned behaviors through conditioning—it addressed limitations in explaining phenomena like language acquisition. Evolving as a multidisciplinary domain, Cognitive Science integrates perspectives from psychology, linguistics, computer science, and philosophy, driving advancements in our comprehension of language, perception, memory, and reasoning. This program delves into core cognitive abilities such as perception, focus, memory, and communication. You'll analyze diverse research methodologies while evaluating their advantages and constraints.
