Join our renowned folk music program, led by award-winning faculty, and become part of an exceptional alumni network
As England's pioneering Folk and Traditional Music degree, this program explores the musical heritage of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Students learn from both resident and visiting artists of national and international acclaim.

While performance and ensemble work form the core of this program, you'll also examine how traditional music shapes cultural identity and societal contexts.

The curriculum offers growing flexibility as you advance, allowing you to customize your studies with elective modules from our contemporary, popular, and classical music programs.

Following your second year, you may pursue international study at one of our partner institutions, extending the program to four years. Note that this typically requires maintaining a 60% average during the first three semesters.
