The Foundation Year in Computing and Engineering serves as an introductory pathway for students who currently don't meet the academic requirements for direct entry into computing or design engineering degree programs. This four-year program incorporates a preparatory foundation year where you'll explore how various individuals and organizations utilize computing technology, while building essential software development capabilities and hardware understanding. You'll also strengthen your mathematical, statistical, and communication abilities.
Successful completion of this foundation year guarantees your progression into any of our three-year undergraduate degree programs. Many foundation year students transition smoothly into degree studies and often emerge among our top-performing graduates.
This foundation year is ideal if:
you lack the necessary qualifications for direct degree entry
you don't yet feel prepared for university-level coursework
you're returning to education and want to refresh your academic skills before degree studies.
Program duration: 1 year foundation + 3 years degree study (full-time).
