The Computing and Engineering Foundation Year serves as an introductory pathway for students who currently don't meet the academic requirements for direct entry into degree programs. This four-year integrated course begins with a foundational year where you'll explore how various users and organizations utilize computing technology, while building essential software development capabilities and hardware understanding. You'll also strengthen your mathematical, statistical, and communication abilities.
Successful completion guarantees progression to any of our three-year undergraduate degrees. Many foundation students transition smoothly to degree-level work and often emerge among our top-performing alumni.
This foundation year is ideal if:
you lack the formal qualifications for direct degree entry
you need additional preparation before starting degree-level work
you're returning to education and want to refresh your academic skills before degree study.
Program duration: 1 year foundation + 3 years degree study
