Our one-year Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) equips you to teach French across the secondary curriculum for students aged 11-16.
At Manchester Met, you'll primarily learn alongside your PGCE French cohort. Instruction occurs in your target language, giving you valuable practice to enhance your fluency.
You'll explore lesson planning techniques, evaluate your teaching strategies, discover how educational research can improve your practice, and cultivate your professional teaching identity.
During placements, you'll typically teach both your primary and secondary languages (depending on your proficiency level and through mutual agreement). We actively support heritage language speakers and strive to create teaching opportunities for additional languages. Previous students have taught Urdu, Italian, Japanese, and Somali - we're committed to expanding this linguistic diversity.
