The utilization of evaluation and quantitative analysis has grown significantly in recent times. Public service commissioners, along with providers from public, voluntary, and private sectors, now face stricter demands to validate their funding proposals and prove the efficacy of past initiatives to secure future support. As an evaluator in this setting, expertise in quantitative techniques is essential, along with the capacity to assess interventions thoroughly through primary research approaches like surveys, interviews, and administrative data. This program offers a solid grounding in diverse research methodologies, with a strong focus on quantitative techniques and specialized evaluation knowledge. Participants will also explore advanced methods, including randomized control trials, and tackle contemporary issues related to complexity.
Professionals in this field must also grasp the decision-making and policy frameworks shaping their work. Accordingly, this course introduces the economics of public policy and includes core modules on topics like housing, criminal justice, poverty and inequality, and health and social care.
