Explore the function of psychologists in legal environments, developments in psychological insights into criminal conduct, and the evaluation and rehabilitation of offenders.
Our master's program is tailored to fulfill the requirements set by the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Forensic Psychology Training Committee. It holds accreditation as the initial step toward achieving Chartered Psychologist status with the BPS.
You'll delve into subjects like crime investigation and prosecution, rehabilitation, and other contemporary matters in forensic psychology.
During hands-on sessions, you may develop case formulations, conduct violence risk evaluations, and prepare behavioral investigative advisory reports.
In addition to lectures, seminars, and workshops, you'll have access to guest speakers who share real-world experiences from the field. Previous speakers have included alumni discussing their professional journeys, local law enforcement officers, and psychologists employed in correctional facilities.
Our teaching staff possess both forensic research and practical expertise, incorporating their knowledge to provide relevant case studies during lectures. Several faculty members maintain active roles in forensic practice while teaching at Manchester Met.
