Our BSc (Hons) Computer Science program provides comprehensive knowledge of computing's theoretical and practical dimensions, focusing particularly on programming, algorithms, data structures, and computer architecture. The curriculum is industry-aligned, ensuring you acquire skills that employers actively seek. Initially, you'll explore programming fundamentals, computational mathematics, web development, computer architectures, and databases while enhancing teamwork and communication abilities. As you advance, you'll delve into specialized domains including algorithms, data structures, networking, operating systems, and professional software development methodologies. In your final year, you'll engage with cutting-edge subjects like artificial intelligence and diverse programming paradigms. A major project will enable you to refine and apply your accumulated expertise. Both our BSc (Hons) Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Software Engineering programs share identical first-year content, offering flexibility to transfer between these degrees after Year 1.
GCE A levels - grades BBB, and to include minimum grade B in one of the following subjects: IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, CCEA Digital Technology, Software Systems Development or a science subject. Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade DDD in IT or Computing. Applicants with a qualification in Applied Science or Engineering will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Creative Digital Media Production is NOT accepted. Access to HE Diploma - Pass overall in Computing, IT or Science with a minimum 122 UCAS Tariff points. T level - Overall grade Merit in Digital Production, Design and Development. Applicants with T level in Digital Business Services, Digital Support Services or Science will be considered on a case-by-case basis. IB Diploma - Pass overall with a minimum overall score of 30 or minimum 120 UCAS Tariff points from three Higher Level subjects, including HL5 in at least one of IT, Computing. Mathematics or a science subject. IELTS: 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5.
