For students who demonstrate degree-level potential but fall short of entry requirements, a Foundation Year serves as an ideal stepping stone, preparing you for Year 1 entry.
The curriculum focuses on building academic confidence and foundational knowledge through specialized units. Alongside core Academic Practice modules that enhance degree-level study skills, you'll explore various humanities subjects. Upon successful completion, you'll advance directly to Year 1 of your selected honors degree program.
All humanities foundation students complete Academic Practice modules (1 and 2) to develop essential skills for university-level work. The program also covers Philosophical Responses to Contemporary Issues, Post-1945 Modern Britain, and English Studies approaches.
Instruction incorporates diverse methods such as lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical workshops, computer lab sessions, and digital learning platforms.
Earning your foundation year qualification ensures seamless transition to the first year of your chosen degree program.
