Our MSc Social Science Research (Social Policy) program offers a thorough introduction to the major methodological and philosophical discussions influencing social sciences today. You'll gain specialized research methods training within a department globally recognized for social policy studies.

We house the renowned Centre for Research in Social Policy (CRSP), which has built global recognition for its impactful policy research over three decades. Notably, CRSP currently leads research on the Minimum Income Standard initiative.
The School of Social Sciences and Humanities also hosts the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture (CRCC). Since its founding in 1991, the center has become one of the UK's largest in its field. CRCC's primary research areas encompass:
