The School's communication and media research is centered in its Centre for Research in Communication and Culture (CRCC), founded in 1991. As one of the UK's largest such centers, its key focus areas encompass: cultural studies, economic policy, linguistic social dynamics, media historiography, migration and national identity, political discourse analysis, and socio-political theory.
This program fully adheres to the Economic and Social Research Council's standards for social science research master's degrees. Graduates will satisfy the ESRC's PhD funding training prerequisites, creating potential opportunities for doctoral research support from the council.
