Our Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology provides the expertise needed to advocate for exercise prescriptions, both for prevention and therapeutic purposes.
With growing recognition of exercise's vital role in managing illnesses and medical conditions, healthcare professionals are urged to incorporate exercise recommendations into treatment strategies and wellness programs. As the global exercise medicine initiative expands, so does the demand for qualified specialists with research expertise in this field.
Previously titled the MSc in Exercise as Medicine, this Clinical Exercise Physiology program was created to address this emerging need, building upon the University's world-renowned research in physical activity and health.
This course targets professionals with exercise science or physical activity backgrounds who seek to deepen their scientific understanding and develop skills to effectively promote exercise adoption, especially for patients with hypertension, diabetes, pulmonary, renal, and cardiovascular conditions, or those susceptible to metabolic syndrome.
Consequently, this MSc program will train a new generation of highly skilled allied health professionals capable of collaborating with medical teams to address the growing prevalence of lifestyle-related health issues.
Located within the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine East Midlands, students will learn in exceptional facilities and have access to advanced laboratories designed to translate pioneering research into practical healthcare solutions.
