It examines international development studies through multiple critical lenses to comprehend evolving global priorities and relationships. You'll learn from experts across diverse specialties intersecting with global development and the Global South, spanning sports initiatives, communication strategies, activist networks, diplomatic affairs, business leadership, and environmental resilience.

While emphasizing the Global South, this MA program acknowledges the interdependent nature of worldwide progress. By pursuing this International Development degree during an era of rapid transformation and widespread mobilization, you'll analyze key theories, methodologies, and analytical frameworks pertinent to today's development challenges.

Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning via corporate collaborations. Participants will work with prominent institutions to build career competencies through the Collaborative Project, choosing between a research thesis or professional placement. The Future Space Enterprise Hub provides extra career support, facilitating partnerships, internship placements, and entrepreneurial ventures.

An optional Meaningful Development module includes an international fieldwork component, allowing you to collaborate with Southern Hemisphere universities and NGOs while gaining firsthand experience with development initiatives.

Qualification Requirements

A 2:2 honours degree with a minimum of 55% (or equivalent international qualification), in social science, humanities or associated subject.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide details of alternative qualifications or relevant professional or voluntary work experience as this will also be considered.

IELTS - 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each individual element (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
TOEFL - iBT - Overall score of 92, with not less than 22 in each test.
