The sports industry is a rapidly growing global sector that presents diverse career prospects for graduates skilled in business, finance, and management within a sports environment.
Our BSc Sports Management program is jointly delivered by the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (currently ranked #1 globally for sports-related disciplines) and the School of Business and Economics (among the UK's top business schools), providing essential training in marketing, organizational leadership, and financial management.
This comprehensive program gives you fundamental knowledge of strategic challenges and opportunities in sports through studies in sports organizations, governance structures, policy frameworks, marketing strategies, and economic principles.
Elective courses let you examine broader aspects of sports management including coaching techniques, leadership development, social impacts, physical activity promotion, and health benefits, allowing you to specialize in areas that align with career goals valued by employers.
With an emphasis on career readiness, you'll collaborate with Loughborough Sport and industry partners on practical business challenges, benefit from our extensive sports network for optional year-long placements, and apply concepts through hands-on experience with elite athletes via our Coach and Volunteer Academy (CVA).
The curriculum also investigates the social and policy contexts of sports management, deepening your knowledge of sports economics and marketing while analyzing strategic and organizational components of the field.
These learning experiences equip graduates for careers in both commercial and non-profit sports organizations, spanning areas like business development, marketing, operations, brand strategy, sponsorship planning, and communications, as well as various management, marketing, and financial positions.
