The LSBU Business School provides research degree programs available full-time, part-time, or through distance learning. Throughout this PhD program, students collaborate with research supervisors to design projects that influence theory, policy, and practice in business and enterprise studies. Guided by two supervisors, students undertake empirical or theoretical research to advance knowledge in their chosen field, culminating in a series of journal articles or an 80,000-word thesis. Past research topics have covered areas such as SME internationalization, multinational corporate marketing strategies, sustainability in project management, risk management in global firms, social media as an innovation hub, and work-life balance challenges.
Our faculty members actively engage with private, public, and nonprofit organizations as consultants, researchers, and advisors. These partnerships involve institutions like the European Commission's Asylum Support Office, Australia's Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science, Switzerland's Federal Ministry of the Interior for the Swiss Olympics, the UK's Chartered Management Institute, the British Council, SIETAR UK for intercultural studies, and the European Commission's Erasmus program.
