This program is collaboratively offered by London South Bank University and Saint Francis Hospice, tailored to help healthcare and social service professionals improve their care for patients and families dealing with physical, psychological, and spiritual challenges during serious illness.
The curriculum follows the European Association for Palliative Care's core competency framework. It aligns with essential skills and guidelines for professionals supporting adults nearing life's end, while also meeting UK Department of Health and Health Education England's workforce development goals in palliative and end-of-life care. Emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration, the program brings together diverse healthcare professionals for shared learning, guided by a multidisciplinary faculty using a Blended Learning Approach that strongly connects academic concepts with real-world application.
Students enjoy flexible study options, choosing between full-time or part-time enrollment. The program also provides elective modules from the CPPD portfolio to accommodate individual career goals and learning preferences.
