The LLM Legal Practice program offers a distinctive and engaging curriculum that equips students for both the SQE and develops them into thoughtful, analytical legal professionals. Every module is crafted to deliver legal expertise, practical skills, professional standards, and thorough preparation for the Solicitors Qualification Examination Parts 1 and 2 (SQE 1 and 2). These modules form part of an integrated learning approach grounded in hands-on experience.
In collaboration with Barbri, a global leader in online legal education, LSBU enhances student learning with digital resources tailored for SQE 1 preparation. This combination of LSBU's in-person instruction and Barbri's online materials fosters innovative experiential learning and professional readiness.
Students begin their legal practice journey at LSBU's innovative Legal Advice Clinic, gaining four weeks of valuable work experience at this acclaimed institution. Those already working as legal trainees may substitute their current role for clinic participation. The program's structure allows students to strategically schedule their SQE exams while completing a dissertation that sharpens critical thinking and culminates in the LLM Legal Practice qualification.

In order to be considered for entry to the course(s) applicants will normally be required to have the following qualifications:
Honours Degree in any subject (LLB recommended): Class 2:2 minimum, or
(Post) Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies and CPE
Exceptionally, other suitable candidates may be accepted on to the course subject to interview and IELTS 6.5 for students whose first language is not English.

TOEFL iBT - Overall score - 90 (Reading - 18, Listening - 17, Writing - 17, Speaking 20)
