The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a research-only degree program. Each MPhil represents your distinctive research journey, guided by at least two faculty supervisors specializing in your chosen field.
You can pursue an MPhil in any research area where the university has appropriate expertise, including interdisciplinary studies. At London Met, we offer a structured research environment with close supervision and progress tracking. Distance learning options are also available for this program.
Earning an MPhil involves developing subject-matter expertise, critically evaluating existing literature, and conducting original research using appropriate methodologies.
Successful MPhil candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of current research in their field, strong analytical abilities to assess scholarly work, and the dedication to work autonomously while committing substantial time to their studies.
While the degree focuses entirely on research, students receive research training and may enroll in relevant master's-level courses to support their work. Additionally, you can simultaneously pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education alongside your research degree.
