A Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a research-only degree program. Each MPhil represents your distinctive research initiative, developed under the mentorship of at least two faculty supervisors specializing in your chosen field.
You can pursue an MPhil in any research domain offered by the university, provided there's adequate supervisory expertise. We actively encourage interdisciplinary research projects. At London Met, we offer a structured research environment with close supervision and regular progress assessments. Distance learning options are also available for this program.
Earning an MPhil involves developing specialized knowledge in your subject, critically evaluating existing literature, and conducting original research using appropriate methodologies.
Successful MPhil candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of current research in their discipline, strong analytical abilities to evaluate scholarly work, and the capacity for independent study. The program demands significant time commitment and self-discipline.
While the degree focuses entirely on research without coursework, you'll receive research methodology training and may enroll in relevant master's-level modules to support your academic investigation.
