The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a research-only degree program. Each MPhil represents your distinctive research journey, guided by at least two faculty supervisors specializing in your chosen field.
You can pursue an MPhil in any research domain offered by the university where faculty expertise aligns with your proposal. We actively encourage interdisciplinary research projects. At London Met, we offer a structured research environment with close supervision and regular progress assessments. Distance learning options are also available for this program.
Earning an MPhil transforms you into a subject matter specialist, requiring you to critically evaluate existing literature and conduct original research using appropriate methodologies.
Successful MPhil candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of current research in their discipline, strong analytical capabilities to assess scholarly work, and the dedication to work autonomously while committing substantial time to their studies.
While the program focuses entirely on research without coursework, you'll receive research methodology training and may enroll in relevant master's-level modules to support your academic investigation.
